In Her Own Words

In her own time takes original oral histories, and weaves them together to create one story. The character is fictional, but the entire story is composed solely from the words of the women I interview. These women have usually had similar experiences, and their narratives revolve around the same ideas, and, therefore, marry together perfectly.

These are read by actors, who are themselves women that have experienced elements of the stories they are performing. The result is an amalgamation of oral history, performance, and creative writing, all whilst never straying from the original source material, the experiences of women in their own words.
